Just Voices
is a community-oriented activist choir in Ottawa, on unceded Algonquin territory.
We use our voices to inspire social change and contribute to movements for social and environmental justice,
racial and gender equality, and struggles against violence, war and poverty.
JUST VOICES
SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
June 17, 2023
7 PM Church of the Ascension, 253 Echo Dr. Ottawa
Guest Performer Christophe Elie
Political Folksinger, Christophe Elie’s most recent album Bridging Borders is a collection of songs that explore both the beauty and challenge of those intersections of culture, language, geography and religion. His primary focus is local, mixing music, art and activism in the community, to protect the limited green space and keep issues of social justice top of mind.
Christophe also hosts a CKCU radio show called “Songs for the Revolution” and hosts a songwriters group in Ottawa called Writers’ Bloc.

Singers Wanted
While the choir varies in size between 15 and 25 people, we are always happy to receive new members.
There's no audition process, so just show up at one of our rehearsals and join in.
The main requirement is that you can carry a tune, and the ability to read music is helpful, but not essential.
Please have at look at our Welcome Sheet
if you are interested in joining us.
